Job Summary


Fleetcor, Comdata Division is seeking an inquisitive, high-energy analyst with a passion for studying markets, developing data-driven insights and championing new approaches to market.  


The Market Analyst is responsible for performing research and developing insights that will help Comdata make more informed decisions about their market opportunities. Efforts will include evaluating market trends, sizing new opportunities, benchmarking competitor capabilities, identifying disruptive technologies, profiling potential & existing customers and recommending new approaches to market. 

The responsibilities of the Market Analyst could range from identifying market segments to launch a new product in, to ideas for maximizing revenue through tailored pricing programs.


Duties and responsibilities


  • Perform primary and secondary market research to understand key market trends and solicit customer feedback

  • Benchmark current product penetration rates and estimate potential market opportunity for new and existing offers

  • Profile and segment potential and existing customers for use in developing sales and service approaches

  • Analyze customer buying behaviors to identify cause and effect relationships and potential pricing opportunities

  • Analyze competitors and benchmark market offers and strategies against Comdata capabilities

  • Stay abreast of new technologies and providers that could potentially disrupt existing Comdata offers

  • Work collaboratively with Finance, Product/IT and Service teams to shape new offers

  • Other responsibilities as assigned




  •  Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or other related areas of study required, Masters’ degree preferred

  • 2-3 years’ experience evaluating business and assessing market conditions

  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office suit (Excel, Access, Word, etc.)

  • Ability to think creatively, ask questions and test ideas

  • Analytical and comfortable gathering and manipulating data

  • Highly motivated and active learner

  • Familiar with marketing and business strategy concepts

  • Collaborative, with strong interpersonal skill
